A.D. Starrling is killing me with all these novellas... they are such a tease! I am jonesing for a new full-length book in the Seventeen series. And Michael Bowers is really the perfect narrator for the series so I hope to do the next full-length book in audio. He has a great deep voice that lends itself well to the serious and intelligent characters in this series, and he does a great job getting your adrenaline going during the action sequences.

So this quickie novella is the story of how Reid Halsey first encounters Lucas Soul back when Reid was working as a detective. At a time when Reid was feeling dejected by his profession, he witnesses the violent murder of Lucas Soul... or so he thought. When Lucas stands up shortly after being shot point blank in the forehead, Reid's eyes are opened to a whole new reality. What follows is a detective's tenacity to discover the truth behind what he saw and make a new career for himself. I liked that he inserted himself in Lucas' life and wouldn't take no for an answer.

Although it's been a while since I read Hunted (formerly Soul Meaning), I remember liking Reid quite a bit in that book. He was Lucas' sidekick and business partner who helped to stop the biological terrorists and prevent war between the immortals. If you haven't read this series and you like lots of action, I highly encourage you to pick up Hunted while it's free on Amazon.

I received a copy of this audiobook at no cost from the author in exchange for an honest review.
