This is Episode Three of the five-episode Timber Towers novella series.

So I am a big fan of this serial, and I really loved the first and second episode. But this episode leaned toward lackluster for me. And this is where I have a problem with the idea of serials. If this 100 pages was in the middle of a whole book, and I was not waiting between episodes, I probably would not have thought it was lackluster. Hanging out there on its own though makes it stick out. I lost some love for Derek and Frankie in this book. Frankie is coming off as oversexed and a little desperate. At one point, she goes home and gets busy with herself, and that is when I officially thought there was too much sex and the plot is starting to suffer. I also lost a little respect for Derek in regard to the Tamra situation.

That being said, I am still invested in this story and still think Derek is a steamy hot book boyfriend. I just hope he makes the right choices in the next episodes... and I hope Frankie does too (though I expect that she will not).

I received an advanced copy of this episode in exchange for an honest review.

She had worn it today and that told me everything I needed to know. “Because Frankie, I don’t believe you really want things between us to end.” Her cheeks darkened and her pupils began to dilate with need. “If you tell me you don’t want me, I’ll…” She had to know I would respect her despite what I wanted. “…I’ll put you down and I’ll leave your condo. What happened between us won’t affect what we have professionally. I promise. But if you want me, then—”
